I went outside to weed the garden, and my amazing girls "babysat" Evie for me inside. It consisted of them sticking a pacifier in her mouth if she got fussy, or dangling toys in front of her, then getting Mom if she started crying too much. This little setup actually worked! I got my garden weeded, and all three girls enjoyed themselves. When I came back, Sydney was playing with the little "blanket" I was working on. She had attempted to crochet again, and had figured it out. She was very pleased and quite proud of herself. Her chain is now 8-9 feet long, and I had to pry it out of her hands to get her to go to bed. She wanted me to post her crocheting on our blog, so here she is! (FYI, knowing Sydney, in about a year she will be teaching me.)

Crochet & Crazy
Sydney has been pestering me to teach her how to knit for quite a while now. So, I convinced her that maybe she should learn how to crochet first, since it is a little easier. I showed her how to do a single crochet this morning, and she had a very difficult time with it. She got frustrated and asked me to do it a little so she could watch. I crocheted a little swatch (a blanket for her doll, according to her). Because I had so much to do today, I convinced her that I needed to put it away and I would work on it later.

Because I took pictures of Sydney, Tara needed some of her too. She's all kinds of crazy in these!

Speaking of CRAZY...Russ has been up every morning at the crack of dawn to go biking with a friend. They ride 15-20 miles each morning. Then we all meet up at the gym after work to do the cycle/spin class. I think Russ is about ready to fall over. It's a pretty safe bet that I'll be riding tomorrow, and Russ will stay home. :)

That is amazing that Sydney is crocheting. And I am so glad that the girls are such big helps in watching Evie. They are such fun girls.
