Reading Rocks!

We live across the street from South Park. It is a pretty nice park, but usually littered with drunks passed out on the lawn or vagrants sleeping under the shelter, so we don't go there as often as we'd like. Today, however, there were two different activities for the kids-- Lunch in the Park and Reading Rocks. Sydney and Tara got to have a free lunch, and I didn't have to cook! They missed story-time at the reading one, because they took to long to eat, but they did get to pick out a book to keep. That made them both quite happy!

Here are Syd and Tara enjoying their lunch in the park.

This morining Sydney and Tara helped me make cookies--one of their favorite activities. Then after we got back from the park they wanted to do crafts--another favorite. So they have been gluing, cutting, crimping, stamping, stickering...whatever makes a mess, they are doing it! Here is some of their artwork. They are still at it, and just minute ago I checked on them. Sydney has glued about twenty popcicle sticks to my dining room table and Tara figured out how to use a star punch, so there are stars all over now. Never a dull moment!

During all this excitement Evelyn has been peacefully sleeping in her swing, so I thought I would share that as well.
