Spring has supposedly arrived, so I thought I should get back to work and finish some projects before school is out. But first...a quick smile from Evie!
Love those little piggy tails!
I have been instructed that I actually have to finish some of my quilts this year. I have about a dozen in the works. I like to finish one, then start three more. It keeps things interesting! Hopefully more 'quilt' blog entries to follow!
I finished this quilt top two weeks ago and I am in love with it. I haven't been able to find the fabric I want for the backing yet, though, so it now resides in the box of (many) unfinished quilts. I am working on Easter dresses right now anyway. I tried explaining the pattern over the phone and it's hard to describe, so I just decided to take a few pictures. This pattern is called "Ahead of the Curve" from Better Homes and Gardens Quilting magazine (Oct 2009). **It is very wrinkled--like I said--folded up in a box**
Fun pattern, bold variety of colors, large to small prints...what's not to love?

I'm making this quilt for my bed. We've had the blue "stars at sea" on our bed for five years or so. Time for a change!

This top has actually been done for ages, but I am not quite sure if I like it. It is a bulls eye pattern, but I skewed it to make it bow-ties. I'm considering taking it apart and putting it together in the bulls eye pattern now (circles). I saw a completed one and I LOVE it. I'm a little disappointed I made it the way I did and it really wouldn't be that much work to redo it. Thoughts?

Thanks for not showing the unfinished closet door frame and baseboard in the photos.
I love the pigtails, too. Evie just keeps growing and growing. Sure wish I got to see her more often.
Your quilts are simply amazing. I wish I had your skill and patience.
Patience?
Be nice!
Thank you Alana! (Listen to your mother, Russ!) But he's right. I'm not exactly known for my patience. :)
FYI--I've already started taking the bulls-eye quilt apart. I just don't like it, which is why I never finished it. Glad I didn't. Now I can make it into something much better. ***we learn from our mistakes, we learn from our mistakes, we learn from our mistakes, we learn from our...*** (or so I keep telling myself as I further bond with my seam-ripper)
AWESOME quilts! You are amazing!
Definitely take apart that top and redo the bulls eye. It would look SO good that way! YOU ROCK!!!
