On Labor Day we took a trip to Yellowstone. I'll tell the story with pictures:
We drove through Red Lodge and Cooke City on HWY 212. It was the most gorgeous drive of all time. We were literally on top of the world! It's nearly 11,000 feet high, and quite an insane drive with hair-pin switch-backs, steep climbs, and very steep drop-offs.

While "on top of the world" we got a nasty flat.

& 4: While Russ was changing the tire, Sydney and Tara had an incredible time playing near a glacial lake. They picked wildflowers, threw rocks and sticks into the water, climbed on rocks, and ran around.

Tower Falls. Syd and I took a quick hike to see this, but didn't stay long.
 Saw lots of bison!
Me (Sarah) with my girls, Tara, Evie, and Sydney. We were on the South Rim of the Canyon Falls.

 Same location--Russ and his girls

Russ, Sydney, and Tara--goofing around on the bridge.
Sydney and Tara found a small cave while on a hike. They are now master explorers and adventurists.

 Russ, Sydney and Tara--at Norris.

I love rocks! This is near the north edge of the caldera.
 Mammoth Hot Springs

There were Elk everywhere at Mammoth! This Bull was bugling and making quite a spectacle. Very impressive!

We also went to see the petrified tree, went on several hikes, walked all over Norris, etc. I just wanted to keep it short and sweet. We can't wait to go again!
