Blog Slackers!

So...
We didn't post about Sydney's birthday and the enormous party she had (around 25 kids). Then there was her baptism, visits from grandparents, so much more soccer fun, Halloween, painting & decorating the girls' room, my birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, bike rides, sledding, Russ riding his bike while pulling girls on sleds, me getting a job, buying a new car (Ford Explorer) and of course, more quilts.

I may (or may not) post some pictures and maybe even chat a little more in detail about our adventures over the past few months. Things have been a little beyond chaotic around here, as I am now working full time. I got a job at the Stillwater mine as a grade-control geologist and so far I have survived my first chunk of training. Tomorrow I move to phase 2--working in the core room. So far I love it, and I think it is going to be really great for our family. It is a little tough getting up at 4:00 in the morning then riding a bus for two hours to get there. Luckily I have the amazing talent of being able to sleep anywhere, so I catch up on sleep during the commute.

Russ has to deal with getting the girls ready in the morning and off to school. He is quickly learning to do the girls' hair which is no easy task. Sydney got a haircut to make it a little easier.

Sydney and Tara go to the Boys and Girls club after school, and an amazing friend will be watching Evie as the daycares all have waiting lists.

Today I actually have the day off, and I have about six hundred things I need to do, so I will abandon my feeble attempt to blog and get to work.

Um...I did post about the girls sledding behind my bicycle but you're right. There is a lot to catch up on.

So are you working 4 days on, 4 days off already? I know what you mean about sleeping on the bus. When I worked on the Site, I mastered getting ready for work while still half asleep so I could resume my night's sleep on the bus. :)

Alana, I am currently working 5 days/wk, 8 hours. I will be in the core room aprox six months. My first week of training was a fourty-hour MSHA training that everyone has to do--regulated by the govmt.

I really enjoy nap-time on the bus! (Uninterrupted!)
